The Big
Trivia Show

Privacy Policy

What we collect

The Big Trivia Show has no accounts and doesn't ask for any personal information. Like most websites, our server keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time) to keep the site running and secure. Logs are deleted automatically after 14 days.

Usage statistics

To see how the site is used, we keep our own anonymous statistics. They never leave our server and aren't shared with anyone. When you load a page or use a feature (Generate, Surprise me, Reveal all, Print, or an ad-free pass), we record:

Your IP address itself is not stored in these statistics, and they use no cookies. The individual records are deleted automatically after 90 days; after that we keep only daily totals, like "40 visitors from Denver on October 21". IP geolocation is provided by DB-IP.

Advertising and cookies

We show ads from Google AdSense to keep the site free. Google and its partners, as third-party vendors, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you'll be asked for your consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice at any time.

Ad-free passes

If you buy an ad-free pass, payment is handled by Stripe, which receives your payment details and email address. We never see your card number. We set one cookie, adfree, holding your ad-free code so this device stays ad-free; it isn't used for tracking.

Fonts

The site's fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser downloads them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date above.
